A result travels
with its limits.

Our experiment notes, another group’s comparison, and a statement about the use of our name are different kinds of record. A working note is not presented as independently reviewed research.

Reading a window without opening a world

Five observations use the same optical path. Oxygen is reported as dry-gas volume percent; the algal channel is optical density at 680 nm. The operator checks an external reference and visible window fouling before reading. A failed reference makes the channel unavailable.

The weekly observations form a sparse record of one chamber, unable to resolve every lighting-cycle fluctuation. The packet has no repeated calibration measurements and supplies no error bars. No optical-density-to-dry-mass calibration is supplied.

Dry-seed mass after 90 days of planting

Indier’s registered comparison has two six-tray arrays. The planting period is 90 days; weighing uses g/tray. Those 90 days describe cultivation, not a merchant’s claim about time in orbit.

A = [18, 19, 17, 18, 20, 18] g/tray
B = [18, 18, 18, 17, 19, 18] g/tray
Mean A = 18.333; B = 18.000 g/tray
Relative difference ≈ +1.85%

The advertised 18% gain was not reproduced in that registered trial. Batches and genetic origins were not completely matched, so the result establishes neither a universal effect nor a universal absence of an effect.

Research is not a product certificate.

CosmosSeed’s account of seeds spending 90 days in near-Earth orbit is a provenance claim. It is separate from the 90-day planting trial above. OuterEco has not authenticated the merchant’s seed provenance and has not endorsed its yield promise.

Our chamber research is not a product certificate. A citation should keep the trial object, actual weighing unit and provenance limits together.
